Letter: He overlooked something in letter (Printed Oct. 26, 2007)
Editor:
In Jack Flemings letter to the editor in the Oct. 19 issue, he seems to overlook the fact that if the rezoning does not pass, there is the possibility of Marie Henriksen sellling the inn to someone who will tear it down (we lose an historic building) and build a McMansion in its place. It would appear that he would prefer this as a possibility rather than retaining the look of the current building, completely renovating and updating the inside of it and converting it to condos.
He seems also to think that the “rezoning is all about the money.” The making of money is an integral part of our capitalist economic system. Perhaps he is not only opposed to the rezoning but also opposed to capitalism as well.
