Letter: Kudos for addressing global warming, but . . . (Printed Feb. 1, 2008)
Editor:
To the writer of the letter entitled: “Need other footprints at Kennebunk High School,” (Jan. 18) I respectfully suggest that you phrase your ideas in a more readable fashion. After reading your letter I have no idea what you’re talking about!
If you’re against the notion that global warming is not a concern – why not say it!
Please do not say that “objectivity” and “intellectual honesty” is the point of your letter and then quote a scientist including the actual listing of the citation which in itself is confusing and not conducive to a smooth presentation of ideas. Terms such as “indoctrination masquerading as education,” “double ethical bind,” “scary scenarios,” ect., are confusing for the general public reader.
On the other hand, the notion that there are two points of view regarding global warming is a good one to take the time to write a letter and therefore in spite of my criticism I applaud your initiative and ability to choose a relevant topic to present to the public.
