Editor:
    I would urge the citizens of Kennebunk to support Al Searles for the vacancy on the board of selectmen. A good measure of a community leader is their commitment to understanding our charter (the rules on which our local government operates) and makes a concerted effort to understand the issues as they arise. Al has demonstrated that commitment as a member of the budget board, a member of the charter commission and as a concerned citizen participating in the discussions at the board of selectmen’s meetings.
    Be sure to vote Thursday, Feb. 21.
