Letter: Many thanks to May Day sponsors (May 16, 2008)
Editor:
Rain did little to dampen the spirits of Downtown Kennebunk’s May Day Celebration on May 3. Families lined the parade route. Crowds packed the Kennebunk Free Library’s activities. Hundreds showed up to make May baskets at The Brick Store Museum. Kids flocked to the parks. From parade floats and performers to food vendors, exhibitors and craft fair participants, we truly appreciated everyone’s commitment to delivering a quality community-wide event.
We are very grateful to Garden Street Market and Kennebunk Savings Bank for sponsoring these 10th annual festivities and are grateful for additional charitable support from the following contributors: Blooms & Heirlooms, Central Intelligence, China Jade, Hearth & Soul / Fresh Start, Investcomm Commercial Group, Kennebunk Village Pharmacy, Marlows, Nuwav Hair Salon, Old House Parts Company, Southern Maine Gastroenterology, State Farm Insurance, and Stone & Associates, Inc.
Special thanks are also extended to the following for providing in-kind contributions or volunteering with various aspects of May Day: Andrews Milligan Real Estate Company, Arundel Ford, Tracy Baetz, Chadwick’s, Teri Collard, Paul Coughlin, Cynthia Furber, Sal Gebbia, Linda Johnson, Journal Tribune, Kennebunk 5 & 10, Kennebunk Fire Rescue, Kennebunk High School, Kennebunk Police Department, Kennebunk Sunoco, Betsy MacDonald, Larry MacIntire, The Masiello Group Real Estate, The New School, Sam’s Club, Scalawags: This & Thats for Dogs & Cats, Southern Maine Medical Center Visiting Nurses, Sunloft Tanning, Wal-Mart, Bob Walsh, We Care Cleaners, and Sarah Weston.
We are already planning for the 11th annual Celebration, and we welcome additional participation for what promises to be a sunny, May Day 2009.
