Letter: Support Bob Nadeau in primary (May 30, 2008)
Editor:
I urge all York County Democrats to get out and vote for the re-election of Probate Judge Bob Nadeau in the June 10 primary. He has consistently been a fair, caring and efficient judge and an advocate for the children, the elderly and disabled.
Anyone who has entered the Probate Court realizes that the courtroom is much too small and access to and from the courtroom is very difficult for the disabled. In case of fire or other disaster, it will be extremely difficult for the disabled to exit the building safely. Bob has been researching all avenues to get grant funding to enlarge the courtroom and to provide better access for the disabled.
During the very difficult financial times of York County due to a very large deficit which became apparent in 2007, the budget for all departments was cut. Judge Nadeau took a large pay cut and he and his staff worked together to stay within the budget cuts and still maintained service to those individuals who utilized the court. He, and his staff, all should be applauded for coming together and continuing to provide exceptional service during these very difficult financial times for the county.
Having been a former Treasurer of York County, I know first hand that this is the kind of person I would like to see as our Judge of Probate. How about you? My vote will certainly be for the person I feel will continue to look out for the needs of the children, disabled, elderly and all residents of York County and that person is Judge Bob Nadeau.
