Letter: Shelter needs help during transition (June 20, 2009)
Editor:
The Caring Neighbors dry goods program of the York County Shelter Programs at Jagger Mills in South Sanford is now closed.
Although the shelter is unable to take large donations, they are in need of some smaller items at this point in time. If you have any of the items listed below, in good condition, please contact Pam Browne at 324-1137 to make arrangements.
Please do not drop these items off at the shelter or at Jagger Mills.
These items are needed at another facility that is opening. Please note that, due to a lack of storage space, only donations in good condition are being accepted until the needs for these items are fulfilled. Thanks for your understanding.
The items requested include: cribs, high chairs, baby food, bottles, sippy cups, child’s potties, toys, strollers, car seats, cribs, crib sheets and crib blankets, twin sheets and twin blankets, cribs in full-working order with all parts, pots, pans, glasses, silverware, and other kitchen items such as pot holders, cooking utensils, dining tables and chairs, office supplies (staplers, pens, pencils), vacuum cleaners, beds (mainly twin, but also need a couple of full size), vaporizers, televisions (that work and accept cable) curtains, blinds for windows (can call for measurements) new. energy-efficient air conditioners and folding six-foot or eight-foot tables.
Fans to cool off apartments are especially needed.
