Letter: In our time of need (Aug. 8, 2008)

Editor:
On July 19, 2008, Jeremy Jones Chadwick, 31, died unexpectedly in a car accident on the Webber Hill Road in Kennebunk.  Jeremy’s family would like to publicly give thanks to the compassionate strangers that were with him when he died.
To the Kennebunk Fire and Rescue emergency responders, Chaplain Alex Davis, the Kennebunk police department, to the Hickson family, to Steve Askin, we are indebted to all of you.
Jeremy’s family is comforted to know that he was not alone when he died and are thankful for everything you attempted to do to save his life.
To Ruth Hickson, we will not forget your patience, your words of comfort and the peace that you brought to the endless stream of family and friends that arrived on your doorstep. We realize how hard this has been for you and your family. We are forever grateful.
Also, to Mike and Linda McDermott of Mike’s Clam Shack and their staff- there are no words to express our gratitude. We have been blessed with the outpouring of your support and generosity toward our family, to Kristie, (Jeremy’s fiancee), and to their newborn baby girl, London Lynn.
The Chadwick family
