Letter: School district got it wrong (Aug. 8, 2008)

Editor:
This is a story of a special lady whose heart is as deep as the ocean, and arms as wide as the sky, whose love is Mother Teresa-like, and whose hand is as soft as her voice.
Her eyes wide open more than the average person seeing the brush strokes, the water, the paint and not just the final painting.
She is a teacher with her master’s in social work and more than 20 years of experience.
Applying for a position in the Kennebunk school system I wondered why the best qualified person did not get the job? Not only are her credentials beyond astounding, but she’s like this once in a life time person you get to meet.
Then I realized it was money, why hire the best when you can hire a good qualified person for less? She has lived in Kennebunk almost 25 years. It just would have been nice to share her with the children in this town. By the way this special woman is my wife. My sons and I are so lucky that fate has given her to us.
