Letter: America ‘Walks the talk’ (Sept. 19, 2008)
Editor:
As a fellow American, I respect your constitutional right to your views.
However, the [opinion column] “Jersey Tawk” of Sept. 5 appears to give a one-sided view without giving credit for the “positive” that will bring “change” for the United States and the world:
Protection of United States citizens.
Support of allies around the world.
Protection and support for those who wish democracy.
We and others seeking alternative energy for all the world.
Acting not as “world police” but being committed to thwart terrorism.
We as a “super power” attempting to obtain diplomatic compliance in these efforts with other “super powers.”
Yes, the “positive” has called for much sacrifice; it is no longer “isolation time,” but we Americans will work together with others to move us and the world to better times.
This is change!
