I would like to congratulate Gary Conner on his victory in the State’s House District 140 race.

It was a very close contest in a year that most were not. I believe this was because of the state taking away money for schools, which forced towns to raise property tax. I hope Gary in his new leadership role will be able to get the state to put back the money for schools.

 I would now like to thank all the voters that supported me in my first run for public office (maybe next time the results will be different). I enjoyed meeting a large number of you in person and talking to those of you that called. Feel free to call me anytime (286-9145) or stop by this winter, I’ll be working on traps or the boat in my garage most mornings, or at the Valero station having coffee. Thank you again for your support and congratulations to Gary Conner.
