Kids give thanks (Nov. 28, 2008)
Students worked on Thanskgiving themed projects Nov. 19 during Healthy Kid’s Club, an after school program at Kennebunk Elementary school for students in kindergarten through fifth grade to promote a healthly lifestyle. The Post visited the three classrooms to see what they were doing and ask what they were thankful for and why this holiday season.
As she colors the feathers of a turkey, Isabelle Mosher, 8, says she is thankful for her family because she cares about them. Next to her is Carlyn Derham, 9, who says she is also thankful for her family because without them she would never have been born.
Samantha Lassey, 6, says she was thankful for the pilgrims because they had a really long ride to Plymouth on the Mayflower.
Jade MacKillikan, 8, says she is thankful for her mom wanting to adopt her.
Holding up a turkey creation, Lily McMahon, 7, says she is thankful for her family. She said she is excited to go to her grandma and grandpa’s house for turkey and gravy, because it is her favorite.
After finishing her turkey project, Emma Pelletier, 6, continues to color Thanksgiving themed coloring pages and says she is thankful for her pets, Josie and Cooper, because they are cute dogs.
