Letter: Shelter says thank you to county (Jan. 16, 2009)
Great thanks to all who helped make Thanksgiving and Christmas joyful holidays for many homeless and hungry people in York County.
The York County Shelter Programs family is very grateful to those who donated food, presents, money, and volunteer time, in spite of power outages and snow storms, to share with those in need.
It would take an entire newspaper to list everyone who donated for the 2008 holidays, but among the donors are Hannaford in Sanford, Wells and Waterboro, Sanford Wal-Mart, Stop & Shop and Garden Street Market in Kennebunk, York County Food Rescue, Sanford School System, Sanford Library Association, St. Georges Episcopal Church, South Congregational Church Kennebunkport, First Congregational Church Kennebunkport, First Parish Congregational Church Saco, North Parish Congregational Church Sanford, Brothers of Christian Instruction Alfred, Alfred Parish Church, Alfred Elementary School, CMP, Line School, Waterboro Elementary School, South Waterboro Bible chapel, Unitarian Universalist Church of Biddeford Saco, The Bay radio station Dover N.
