Letter: May Day’s success takes many hands (May 22, 2009)

Editor:

Yet another May Day Festival has come and gone. This year Mother Nature, after trying to drown us last year, seemed to smile upon us and a lovely time was had by all (we hope).

As you can imagine, an event like this takes much planning and many volunteers. We are so lucky to live in a community where so many want to help. Between those that gave their time, their talent, necessary materials and, yes, money the list is long and we would like to ask your help in thanking them. Amisi, AndrewsMilligan Real Estate, Artists Promotions, Bentley’s Saloon, Bowley Builders, Brown Fox Printing, Camden National Bank, Cameron Morison, C.N. Brown, Coastal Cruisers, DC Towing, Deering Lumber, Duffy’s Tavern & Grill, Dunlap Highland Band, Emmons Electric, Farmer’s Market, Fresh Start, Garden Street Market, GymNation, Hearth & Soul, Kennebunk 5 & 10, Kennebunk Light & Power, Kennebunk River Band, Kennebunk Savings Bank, “Kenny Bear” the Mascot, Ketchfish Brothers Band, Kora Shrine Renegades, Lucky Pup Rescue, Marlow’s, Mousam River Rats Band, “Oakie” the Mascot, Old Falls Martial Arts, Old House Parts Company, Shoe String Puppet Theater, Shriner’s Fact & Figures, Shriner’s Mo-Peds, SMMC Visiting Nurses, State Farm Insurance-Kennebunk, Stone & Associates, Time Out For Comics, The Up Roots Band, Video Creations and We Care Cleaners.

Ideas for next year have already started and we hope you’ll consider joining us when planning begins in early 2010.

Until then Happy Spring!
