Letter: Sponsors make downtown celebration possible (Printed Dec. 11, 2009)
To the Editor:
The Kennebunk Downtown Committee would like to express its appreciation to those who helped make our 26th annual tree lighting so festive as Santa Claus lit the Becker Memorial Christmas Tree at Rotary Park. We would like to thank The Kennebunk High School Chamber Choir who performed wonderfully under the direction of Nathan Menifield and The Choir of the Kennebunks.
Another big thanks to our corporate sponsors: Amisi, AndrewsMilligan Real Estate, Better Homes & Gardens The Masiello Group, Camden National Bank, Duffy’s Tavern & Grill, The Downing Agency, Garden Street Market, The Kennebunk Inn, Kennebunk Savings Bank, Ocean Bank, Perfecto’s Caffe, Salon 96, Southern Maine Medical Center and Southern Maine Medical Center Visiting Nurses for providing hot cider, cocoa, coffee, candy, eggnog, cookies, brownies, doughnut holes, fresh popcorn, a yule log, cheese and crackers, and goodie bags with pens, bookmarkers and hand sanitizer.
In order to make this a reality each year, we extend our gratitude to the crew of Kennebunk Light and Power for their continuous work installing and maintaining all of the tree lights in our downtown. On the night of the event, we are also grateful for the services of Brian Burns, John Downing, Sal Gebbia of Better Homes & Gardens The Masiello Group, Sarah Jodrie, Kelsey Redmond, The Kennebunk Rotary Club, and attorney Steven Candors of Maine Legal Association. It goes without saying that cooperation from our local Police department and Kennebunk Public Works is very important.
New this year, we would like to thank Deputy Chief Dana Ingham and Firefighter John Thyng from Kennebunk Fire Rescue for their assistance with the lighting system. We truly appreciate Larry McIntyre and his team of horses for providing Santa’s ground transportation.
