Christine H. Stevens, 76, of Kennebunk, died Wednesday morning, January 20, 2010 at St. Andre’s Healthcare in Biddeford. She was born in Kennebunk on January 17, 1934, a daughter of Raymond Edward Towne and Winifred (Pitts) Towne.
She was the widow of Donald W. Stevens, to whom she was married for 39 years.
She was a dedicated homemaker and welcomed the opportunity to stay home and raise her family. In fact, she never had a driver’s license until her husband became ill and could no longer drive.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by five brothers.
Survivors include her son, Ralph M. Stevens and his wife Sally of Arundel; three daughters, Charlene Goldammer and her husband Eric, Debra Stewart and her husband David, and Teresa Stevens, all of Kennebunk; her sister, Eleanor Chambers of York; her five grandchildren: Aaron, Ryan, Joshua, Michael, and Jordan; and one great grandchild on the way.
A spring burial will be in Hope Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made in her memory to: The American Heart Association, 51 U.S. Route One, Suite M, Scarborough, 04074. Arrangements are in care of Bibber Memorial Chapel.
