Man accused of receiving child pornography

A Kennebunk man was arrested Wednesday and charged with possessing sexually explicit videos of a minor.
Norman Robinson, 46, allegedly purchased pornographic videos through the United States mail, according to Kennebunk Lieutenant Anthony Bean Burpee.
United States postal inspectors approached Kennebunk police last week to help with the investigation, which is still ongoing. Burpee said inspectors came to Kennebunk police for help with the arrest because Robinson was a resident of the town.
The state’s Computer Crimes Task Force also is involved in the investigation.
Robinson was released from the Kennebunk Police Department on $500 bail. He is due in York County Superior Court on March 17 to enter a plea.

More than $1,000
stolen from school

Police are investigating a rash of thefts that occurred during last Saturday’s Winter Carnival at the Kennebunk Elementary School, RSU 21 Superintendent Andrew Dolloff reported during the Feb. 1 school board meeting
Someone at the winter carnival stole $1,000 from the Parent Teacher Organization, riffled through purses and stole three wallets from volunteers at the event.
“Shame on you for stealing from kids,” Superintendent Andrew Dolloff said at Monday’s school moard meeting.
Dolloff then asked the person who stole the money to “please do the right thing” and return the money to the districts main office.
As of Tuesday, police had two leads on the case, but had not released any further information about the incident.
Kennebunk Lieutenant Anthony Bean Burpee asked the public to come forward if anyone had more information on the incident by calling the anonymous hot line or sending an anonymous e-mail through the police department Web site.

Arraignment
