Robert Shuris
Robert S. “Bob” Shuris, 81, of Kennebunkport, diedMonday, Feb. 1, 2010 at Maine Medical Center in Portland after becoming illlast week. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, Dec. 18, 1928, the son of Neil andGrace (Becker) Shuris. He grew up in Cleveland where he attended Case WesternReserve University.
On April 18 1953, he married Elizabeth Lou “Betty”Mory.
Following a tour of duty in the United StatesNavy, Shuris returned to school and graduated from Purdue University with aBachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering. After moving to New Jersey, heworked for Curtis-Wright for 14 years.
In 1967, he and Betty moved to Maine, where hebecame plant manager at the former Sprague Electric in Sanford. After Spragueclosed, he and Betty bought Daly Bros. Bedding Co. in Biddeford. He remainedactive in the business, along with Betty and their son, Donald, until becomingill.
Shuris enjoyed serving on the board of directorsat Southern Maine Medical Center for 13 years, eventually becoming president.
His passion was sailing and the sea. Along withsailing the coast of Maine, he and his wife would sail the Caribbean eachJanuary, where he also enjoyed scuba diving and underwater photography. He wasalso interested in geology and made several trips to explore and study thewestern United States including rafting the Grand Canyon.
Survivors include his loving wife, Betty Lou, ofKennebunkport; two sons, Robert L. Shuris, and his wife Becky, of Colorado, andDonald Shuris of Kennebunk; his sister, Jean Streight of Florida; twograndchildren, Neal and Evan Shuris, along with their mother Marianne Tozier ofKennebunk.

Alyce A. Tucceri
Alyce A. Tucceri, 80, of Lyman, formerly ofKennebunkport, died Feb. 9, 2010, after a long illness.
She was born in Needham, Mass., May 28, 1929, thedaughter of Alice Brittain and Thomas Mahoney, Sr. Alyce grew up in NewtonUpper Falls, Mass., graduated from Newton High School, and graduated asvaledictorian from Stratford Business School in Boston.
Tucceri worked for The Shawmut Inn, BibberMemorial Chapel, and among others, Kennebunk High School.
She is survived by her husband of 55, RobertTucceri of Lyman; her daughter Alyce Swan and her husband Thomas, of Lyman; twosons, Robert Tucceri and his wife Denise of Red Deer, Alberta, and Laurence“Larry” Tucceri and his wife Amy, of West Kennebunk; and two siblings, MargaretZapatka of Kennebunk, and Eileen Reading of Waterville. She is pre-deceased byher brother, Thomas Mahoney, Jr. and her sister, Jeanne Mahoney.
Tucceri had six grandchildren – Barry, Bonnie, andRobbie Tucceri, Thomas Swan, and Samantha and Matthew Tucceri.
Her favorite memories are those of times spentwith her grandchildren at The Colony Beach in Kennebunkport. She faithfullywatched every sports game on television, especially New England sports. Sheenjoyed reading, Italian cooking, hockey, bird watching and spending time withher family. She loved all board games, especially cribbage and scrabble.
Donations in her name may be mailed to SamanthaTucceri, 47 Woodside Dr., Kennebunk, to support her family’s Tri For A Curerelay team in support of cancer research.

Salvatore Guglielmino
Salvatore Guglielmino, 90, of Kennebunk, diedsurrounded by his family Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010 at the Gosnell MemorialHospice House in Scarborough following a brief illness.
Guglielmino was born in Sicily April 22, 1919, sonof Anunziata and Guiseppe Guglielmino and came to the United States in 1959following his marriage to his wife of 51 years Ida (Salemi) Guglielmino.
In addition to his wife, he leaves behind two daughters,Nancy McMahon and husband, Robert MacKenzie of Kennebunk and Ann and herhusband, Richard Akins of Dunstable, Mass.
He is also survived by three grandchildren,Alexander, Olivia and Evan McMahon of Kennebunk and five step-grandchildren.
