Letter: Thornton Academy Middle School is right fit for family (Printed Feb. 26, 2010)

To the editor:

It is with great pleasure I share what Thornton Academy Middle School has done for my daughter.
On Feb. 6, Taylor Santos of Arundel was crowned Miss Pine Tree Queen. She is excited to advocate for Pine Tree Society Camp in Rome. She will vounteer this summer with special needs children giving them opportunity to discover individual abilities in their favorite sports and activities. Taylor has a positive and enthusiastic spirit that will help change lives and offer hope in the lives of campers who will participate in this amazing program.
Taylor is an eighth-grade student at Thornton Academy Middle School, an outstanding school for sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students from Arundel.
Taylor was honored to become a member of the National Junior Honor Society in January. She can’t thank her Thornton Academy Middle School family enough for their continuous support. The closeness of this amazing community has given Taylor strength, confidence and the ability to strive for academic achievements and personal goals.
The phenomenally dedicated teachers at Thornton Academy Middle School take pride in getting to know each student academically and personally. You can feel love just walking through the doors. Students and faculty thrive for social and academic growth and it is more than evident in Taylor’s accomplishments.
It would be wonderful if others took time to share their child’s positive experience with Thornton Academy Middle School. Small classes and individual attention is a necessity in order for children to grow.
Thornton Academy Middle School should be proud of its tremendous successes. Friends Taylor has made, both peers and teachers, will be for life and she hopes her brother will be able to experience what she has learned at Thornton Academy Middle School. She looks forward to continuing her exceptional education at Thornton Academy in the fall.
