I sympathize with the woman who complained about the sound of gunshots near her home but for different reasons (“Disturbed by gunshots,” July 16, page 10).

I think the last thing this area needs is anything that will depress home values further and nothing does the trick like these sorts of things.

Ask yourself, what would you rather hear as a potential homeowner, chirping birds or gunshots?
